Basically Obsessed With Chambray Shirts

21 Apr

A few years ago, I wouldn’t be caught dead in a chambray shirt. At that time, you would have been much more likely to find a chambray on my dad (worn with jeans for a denim-on-denim look, of course!) than on the pages of a fashion magazine. But these days, I’m obsessed with the feminine cuts and lovely details popping up on all sorts of chambray shirts. Tuck a chambray shirt into a basic black or even a floral print pencil skirt for an office look that’s hip and pretty. After work, keep the chambray, but slip out of the pencil skirt and into some slender black cigarette pants or a mini for a date-ready look.

This Ann Taylor top ($78) is a great example of a professional look that incorporates the chambray shirt.

J Crew has quite the variety of chambray shirts. This little love number ($98) would look great with a classic black or solid color pencil skirt.

This chambray shirt, from Banana Republic ($69.50), would look great with a graphic print pencil skirt (it would also be a dream with this).
