Fit for a First Lady

9 Jan

Have you heard about Target’s latest designer collaboration? Jason Wu, who became a household name to fashionistas when First Lady Michelle Obama wore a dress designed by him to the Inaugural Ball, has designed a line for Target that will be available in stores on February 5.

The New York Times offered a tiny sneak peek this weekend and, after stalking Jason Wu for Target online, I am confident that this collection will be absolutely Office Pretty (check out this cute dress posted by Glamour Magazine). It’s sure to include the feminine details we love at a price we love even more. Look for flattering cuts, pops of lace and classic blouses enhanced by bows and patterns.

Here are a few of my favorite looks from his Spring 2012 collection (note: these are NOT available for less than $59 like his Target collection) that capture his gift for designing lovely, feminine and classic pieces: dress 1, dress 2, dress 3.

I learned a thing or two from the Missoni mishap of 2011 and will be lining up early on February 5 to get a few items from the collection. See you there!

* UPDATE: The full look book is just as amazing as we hoped. Check it out here. Our favorite looks for the office are 3, 12, 15 and 20, you?
