Casual Friday Prints

24 Feb

We’ve seen this trend on the racks in San Fransisco and Denver in recent weeks. It  goes beyond the brightly colored denim we’re seeing this spring to lovely florals and prints. Here are a few of our favorite floral jeans – perfect with a chambray shirt or a neutral sweater and heels on a Casual Friday.

Are you adventurous enough to try floral jeans? Do they remind you too much of the head-to-toe floral Laura Ashley outfits some of us wore in the 80s? Or, do you love them just as much as we do?

P.S. Check out this Refinery29 slideshow featuring even more florals.

Obsessed: A Slice of Heaven

22 Feb

I just returned from an amazing trip to San Francisco, one of my favorite cities in the world. Not only did I come back with a few Office Pretty items like this cute blazer and this lovely spring Equipment shirt, but I also came back with a new obsession: sliced diamonds.

Sliced diamonds are definitely a huge splurge, so let’s take a moment to just dream about them together.

This is similar to the ring that I saw while shopping in one of my favorite neighborhoods, Pacific Heights (the one I saw was in yellow gold with a lighter center diamond slice). I absolutely love that this ring is flush against the skin and, trust me, it is so stunning in person. I think it would look perfect with my wedding bands (hint, hint Tom).

Borgioni, the designer who makes the ring above, also makes these amazing earrings. Aren’t the sliced diamond stones here beautiful? So natural.

These earrings serve as a reminder of just how unique sliced diamonds are – no two are alike.

As long as we are in dreamland, if you really want a splurge, here is a sliced diamond necklace that costs more than most cars.

Spring Makeup Update

15 Feb

A spring refresher isn’t complete without a visit to the makeup counter.

  • We love the shimmery  pinks and purples that appeared on spring runways. Shades like this make for an understated and pretty eye. We love Bobbi Brown’s Rose Gold collection (featured in the photo above) – it’s simply lovely.

Color Blocked, the sequal

14 Feb

We’ve written about it before (and that other time too!), but now color-blocked dresses, coats, blouses, skirts and accessories are finally available to the masses. And since color-blocking has been all over the fall runways too, you can be sure this isn’t a one-season wear purchase.

What is color blocking? It’s when a single piece of clothing – or an outfit as whole – is made up of chunks of solid colors. It’s not subtle, but it sure is fun.

Clockwise from top-left: JCrew model | flats | purse | scarf | sweater | hoops

We’ll send you on your way with a few color blocking ideas from Pinterest: : a pleated dress, heels, a useful tote, a Pippa Middleton
